2015 Twins Fest Players

Today the Minnesota Twins website came out with the current and former players scheduled to attend Twins Fest. I am very happy that Torii Hunter will be signing as I do not have his autograph and I have always admired his way of playing baseball. I also look forward to Kennys Vargas, who I really enjoyed watching play last season. Jose Berrios, Byron Buxton, and Miguel Sano will also be there. I would really like their autographs. They will definitely be great for the Twins in years to come. I love to see Joe Mauer but I really don't know if I'll be able to see him. The website didn't have what times they will appear so we will just have to wait and find out! I will most likely go to the Bloomington Card Show to get any cards I may need. I also might try COMC .com. I have heard that many collectors like myself use that site. Can anyone tell me how reliable the sellers are and how good the cards are when they come. I would like this site to be a good place for me to buy cards in the future.

Baseball 365 1995 Baseball Digest- Ripken Cover

Today I visited my favorite store on Earth. It is called Baseball 365 and it is located in Bloomington, MN. They carry many many brand new baseball gloves, bats, cleats, and everything baseball! They carry name brands like Mizuno, Easton, Demarini, Rawlings, etc. I recently bought my Rawlings Gamer Glove there. Great prices too! The shop is owned by two guys named Ryan and Tom. They do a great job with the store. This store is FAR better than an average Dicks or Sports Authority. Their gloves and bats are the best brands at good prices and everything is brand new. They also carry cards and memorabilia. It is the baseball lover's dream shop! Since I am a die hard Os fan, I purchased a 1995 issue of Baseball Digest with Cal Ripken Jr on the cover. I was surprised at how much smaller the earlier issues are compared to the new Baseball Digest issues that are the standard magazine type. If you are ever in the area, please check out the shop!

Ebay purchases Dobbek and Pleis

Today I received 2 more cards in the mail. One was a Sporting News Rookie Star Card Dan Dobbek, a Senators and Twins outfielder in the 50s and 60s. The other was a Topps Bill Pleis, a pitcher for the Twins also in the 50s and 60s. I plan to send these 2 and the other 2 cards in my previous post out through the mail to be signed.

Ebay Purchases Woodson & Kostro

Today I received two eBay returns through the mail. They were both packaged and sent with very good protection so that's always nice. One was Dick Woodson, a former Twins pitcher who played in the 60s. The other was Frank Kostro, a utility player for the Twins in the 50s and 60s. Both cards are authentic from the 60s. I will send TTM to both players. I hope for a speedy return!

Markakis to Braves

Yesterday the Atlanta Braves snatched rightfielder Nick Markakis up off the free agent market. This makes me EXTREMELY sad and a bit mad because I am a very big O's fan. I was sad when Nelson Cruz was signed by the Mariners and Cruz was only in Baltimore for a year! Markakis has been a life long Oriole. I can't believe that Dan Duquette didn't sign him. This is definitely not good for our fan base and our 96 win year last year probably won't repeat next season, sadly. Some reports say that the Orioles may be interested in Michael Morse who can replace Cruz with some pop at DH. But in my opinion, Kako is not replaceable. I do hope that Orioles stars like Manny Machado, Chris Davis, and Matt Wieters can have comeback years. Machado spent most of the last 2 seasons on the DL with bad knee injuries. Chris Davis did not have his remarkable 53 homers last year as he did in 2013. And Matt Wieters had Tommy John Surgery as a catcher. Ouch. I do believe that my O's will still win the East next year!

Torii Hunter Homecoming

T-Hunt is coming home! The Twins signed Torii Hunter to a 1 year 10.5 million dollar deal! Torii Hunter spent the first 11 seasons of his career here in Minnesota. This deal will definitely give Twins ticket sales a boost. Also, as I think I mentioned in my previous post, I was looking forward to getting Hunter's autograph if he signed. If he is scheduled at Twins Fest, he will definitely be at the top of my priority list. I have never gotten Torii's
autograph before. Actually, I don't think I've even seen him in person! He left MN in 2007, when I was 5. I sure will be going to a ton of games this year! It'll be great to see him. He has always been one of my favorite players. Now all that's left: New pitchers. Liriano? Masterson? We'll see!
