Its never too early to start thinking about Twins Fest!
I just bought a 2013 Topps Heritage complete set of Twins minor leaguers. There are Rock Cats, Miracle, Snappers, and more. In the set there is Max Kepler, Byron Buxton, Jose Berrios, Eddie Rosario, Miguel Sano, Nick Gordon, and many more. I'll get all of these signed at Twins Fest in January.
I am also going to get Kyle Gibson on his Twins magazine cover from last summer. I couldn't get him to sign during pre-game. If Torii decides to go to TF, I'll get him to sign my bobble head of him with the Twins. Oddly enough, I don't have Dozier on a ball yet... just a minor league card. If I go Saturday and Sunday, I'll get him on a ball and a heritage. As for Mauer, I've got him on balls and cards, but not a bobble head or photo. I'll get him to sign an 8x10 this year and maybe a bobble head if i can find a reasonably priced one.
I have already pre-ordered my Star Wars tickets for December. They sold out in 15 minutes! I was lucky to get them for opening night and on Christmas day. I'm extremely excited and I've already gotten some TFA shirts and lightsaber!

I received a return from Indians young pitcher Danny Salazar. A great return because he was a big prospect a few years ago and he is now a great pitcher.
I was at Minnesota Comic Con on Saturday and picked up a S.T.A.R Labs hoodie from The Flash, a 1997 Flash comic book, a 1978 Amazing Spider-man crossover with the Hulk comic book, and a 1974 Fantastic Four "Two Things are Deadlier Than One" comic book. I like seeing as many Ben Grimms as possible!
I know this is a baseball blog, but I do have other interests! Season 2 episode 1 of the Flash was last Tuesday and episode 2 is tonight! We'll see more Jay Garrick now interacting with Team Flash. The Crimson Comet and the Scarlet Speedster in an episode! Don't miss it!

On Friday I received a return from Angels infielder Conor Gillaspie. He also spent time with the White Sox and Giants. Great return!
I'm going to Minnesota Comic Con at the MN State Fair Education Building in a couple weeks. Probably won't have any cash left over for baseball cards!!

On Saturday the 19th, I'm going to the Twins game against the Angels. This is a huge series for us if we are going to make the wild card spot and with two losses already, we need a win tomorrow! I'll bring my 2015 yearbook and try to get some autos before game-time during BP.

About a week or so ago the Twins were giving out 1965 looking bobble heads prior to the game in honor of the '65 pennant winning Twins. We got there in time and were able to get some. It went right into my new glass display case I got from IKEA.
I also recently got a return from the most recent Twins Rookie of the Year Marty Cordova. He signed a 1996 Fleer Ultra. I have a bunch of cards still in the mail. I hope to get a few more returns before school starts and things slow down.

On Saturday the Twins were giving out Brian Dozier bobble heads before the game against the Yankees. My uncle was nice enough to go for me as I had a baseball tournament and couldn't go. He got there VERY early and was able to get the bobble heads. Unfortunately, there is no good space on it to get Dozier's autograph. His helmet "flew off" and the legs may be too skinny. On the base of it might work or maybe across the forehead but i'm not sure.
I have a few cards out now including a 1986 Ron Gardenhire. Hope to get some returns soon!

Today I received a return from former White Sox/Reds/Mariners/Mets/Padres/Brewers/Red Sox outfielder Mike Cameron. Unfortunately, the card was returned with a bit of a smudged autograph in blue sharpie. The card wasn't placed back into its protective holder and it rubbed off some of the signature on the plastic holder. I'm still happy I got a return from a quality player though!
I sent out cards to a few other players as well today. I hope to see them in the mailbox in the next few days...or weeks!

My latest return is from Brandon Finnegan a starting/relief pitcher for the Kansas City Royals. The reason I was more eager to receive this card back is because of what he accomplished in 2014. He was the first player in history to play in the College World Series in the summer and in the MLB World Series in October in the same year. I thought that was was pretty amazing and he has actually done very well with the Royals. Hopefully he can become a starter in their rotation.
I still have quite a few more cards out there. Hopefully I'll get some in the near future.

Today I went to the Fan HQ store at the Ridgedale Center in Minnetonka, MN. They sell mostly Twins and some Vikings and Wild and T-Wolves memorabilia, apparel, etc. I mostly go there for their Twins and baseball items. At Twins Fest i purchased a Paul Molitor 8x10 that I got signed that day! Its a great store for all Minnesota and Packer fans!
Today I just went to browse, but, as I always do, I found a couple things I wanted! I got a great deal on a Bob Feller signed ball. They got it at a Twins Fest appearance in 2005. I am very pleased with this as I'm a huge Feller fan. Also, he wrote "HOF 1962" on it. I did make a rather poor decision, as it turned out, in buying one of their mystery signed baseballs. They have about 15 or so signed balls of players who have played for the Twinkies. I decided to get one and it was a Phillip Humber autograph. He played with us in '08-09. He actually did throw a perfect game with the White Sox in 2012. But the signature was on a side panel, which most collectors, including myself, do not favor. I like them on the sweet spot. Whats more, there was even a small (what looked like to be Dr.Pepper!) stain on the side panel! Oh well, though. I guess that's what I get for buying something I didn't see! I'll probably not buy anymore mystery items...

Yesterday I received a return...from the post office in Somerset, MA. That is where Greg Gagne lives and I was sending him a TTM request. But the post office there sent it back to me with a stamp on it saying it had an irregular shape. What's weird about this is that I have mailed my requests the same way for years and the only return to senders I've gotten were for wrong addresses. I guess Somerset is more strict...
So today I mailed it again with the return envelope enclosed in my letter and card. Then I folded it very long and flat so that the letter took up the entire large envelope. Hopefully Somerset is okay with it now!

Today I sent out 6 cards through the mail, a rather unusual amount for me. But with it being spring break, I was able to have time to write letters to Gordon Beckham(he is one of my favorite players), Joe Kelly, Jim Gentile, Sam Doolittle ,and Matt Shoemaker. I just had to send two cards to Beckham because I like him so much! I sent him a 2014 Topps heritage and a normal 2014 Topps card.
I sent these cards to the team spring training facility, but I wonder if I should have sent them to the actual stadium, because there is only a week or so left in spring. I am sending out more cards soon, so if anyone has any thoughts as to where I should send the cards, that would be helpful. Thanks.

On February 19, the Orioles' pitchers and catchers reported to Sarasota, including catcher Matt Wieters who was sidelined all last season due to Tommy John Surgery. Buck Showalter has said that for half of spring, he will just DH. Eduardo Encina and Brittany Ghiroli, two Orioles writers on Twitter, have both said that things have been going well the first few days in camp. Hopefully this is a start to an Orioles 2015 World Series Trophy! Now I'm going to show you pictures from both of their Twitter accounts.

Today I was at Target and I decided to buy my first packs of Topps 2015, as they just recently came out. I bought 5 packs and each card was very cool! They look alot better than last year's. I even got a neat Jackie Robinson Story card that come limited. I got just 4 Orioles cards. I can't decide whether to add them to my 2015 Topps binder or my overall Orioles binder. I'll probably go with the Os binder because all of my other 2015s will go into the other one. I'm very happy with the Os cards that I did receive, even if there were only 4. I'm especially happy with the De Aza because it's his first Orioles card and Schoop's card because I believe he will be great in the future!

There is one particular item that I didn't get signed at Twins Fest this year. It was last season's All Star Game Limited Edition Program. I was aiming to get Glen Perkins and Kurt Suzuki on it, since they closed out the game. Well that's one thing to add to next years list!

I'm finally home from Twins Fest. I had a pretty tiring two days! Every step and minute of waiting was worth it though. Today I got Torii Hunter(finally), Stephen Pryor, Kohl Stewart, Kurt Suzuki, Ryan Pressly, and many more. All of my items will be displayed now! Next year will be even better!
Just got through to Hunter line. He is so nice. I also got Stephen Pryor. I got back in the same line to wait for Kurt Suzuki when my dad came back with the last All-Star Grab Bag! It had a whole bunch of cool stuff including an awesome authentic fitted twins cap. I couldn't be happier!

My parents were nice enough to let me go to the Fest tomorrow too because I wasn't able to get Torii Hunter. It is pretty much a once in a lifetime opportunity. I'm very happy! I might get Kurt Suzuki and Perk on my 2014 All Star game program, since those two closed out the game.
I'm finally back from Twins Fest! I sure had a great time. I think they just keep getting better and better. As I posted earlier, I made Joe Mauer my first stop. Boy is he great! After that, I did miss out on Torii :( . I may go tomorrow though just for him. After I missed out on Hunter I caught the tail end of a Bert Blyleven signing. I got the the line with time to spare. He signed what would've been Torii's ball. I'm still happy with Bert. I got the new skipper Paul Molitor on a great 8x10 I purchased earlier from Fan HQ. With him, I had Miguel Sano autograph a baseball on the sweet spot. Then I headed to Tony Oliva and Byron Buxton. I was very happy to get as good of a place in line here that I did. Buxton also signed the Sano ball because I thought it would be neat to have the two top Twins prospects on a ball together. Tony O signed my other ball. I got four autographs on 3 balls. Pretty good day!

This is my last signing of the day. I might go again tomorrow to get T-Hunt. I got to this Buxton and Oliva signing 2 HOURS early, and I'm about 35 people back in line. It won't be another hour or so until they even hand out TICKETS! Oh well. Still my favorite time of year. I was just down by the vendors at the lower concourse. It was PACKED. There was a 45 min wait just for an elevator. We better hope there isn't a problem down there.
I got up at 7am today thinking I would get a terrific place in line before doors open for Saturdays Twins Fest. I was wrong. We were more toward the middle and I had to wait for at least 45 mins. I was lucky though, because at other entrances the lines were twice as long! It is still early today. I got in Joe Mauer's line just in time at 9:15 and I got him to sign a really nice card (I already have him on a ball). Joe always has a great attitude and he chats with every fan! A great role model. After Mauer I walked just about as fast as my legs could take me to catch Torii Hunter. His line was at least a mile long when I got there. I was sad I couldn't get him because I've never met him before. Always next year though? After I missed out on Torii I caught the end of a Bert Blyleven signing. I went through it with ease. He signed a ball for me. After Bert I went down to the Champions Club to get lunch and watch a little bit of Fan Fued with Dick Bremer and Blyleven (I got a picture with Bremer and Mauer). Now I wait in Molitor and Sano's line. Ugh.... A while of waiting.
